Indore district administration has initiated the process of granting land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages within the municipal corporation limits. These villages were incorporated into the municipal corporation in 2014. Residents who occupy residential land without a lease or their heirs/transferees are eligible to apply for land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav recently directed this effort during a meeting in Indore. Currently, landowners in these villages face challenges in selling their houses or obtaining loans due to the lack of registration and lease documents. They can now submit applications for land holding rights based on a circular issued by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. If eligible, they will be granted a 30-year lease, allowing them to easily access loans and transfer their property. Camps will be organized at tehsil offices on September 29, 2024, in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia to receive applications. Successful applicants will receive their leases after verification. SDM Rau Vinod Rathore mentioned that online applications will be accepted during the camps, and applicants must bring required documents like bills, property tax receipts, and voter list information.
